Leaf Collection & Garbage Pickup Leaf collection will begin the first week of October and continue through December 15th, weather permitting. Residents should place leaves in piles in the street- please avoid blocking storm drains and no large branches. Leaf collection will occur on your designated street sweeping day Shank Waste will pick one bulk item per week. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and e-waste will be picked up at no additional charge, residents must contact the customer service (724-226-8320) to schedule a collection appointment at least 10 business days in advance of the scheduled collection, a collection kit with instructions and a bag will be sent to your home prior to your scheduled collection date. Community Events Mark your calendar! The Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce Craft Beer Crawl will be held on Saturday, September 20th from 2:30-5:30, tickets are available at www.aspinwallchamber.com. Fall in the Wall will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of fun for the whole family. Pumpkin painting, petting zoo, food vendors, bounce houses, local merchants and DJ's on Brilliant and Commercial Ave. Trick-or-Treat will be held on Thursday, October 31, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The costume contest sponsored by S.A.V.E.S. begins at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Borough building on Commercial Ave. Residents are encouraged to keep their porch lights on if they wish to participate.
