From bicycle patrols and community programs to traffic safety efforts and crisis response training, these measures help reduce crime, build trust, and support our most vulnerable neighbors. The result? Safer streets, stronger relationships, and a better quality of life for everyone. With the start of the 2025-2026 school year, the department is relaunching its "SLOW DOWN" campaign to encourage safe driving habits throughout Aspinwall and surrounding communities. New signs will soon be posted across the Borough as reminders, and officers will continue monitoring stop signs and speeding in town. This summer, officers also focused heavily on community engagement. They hosted outdoor movie nights and "Ride with a Cop" events to promote bike safety and exercise. A new community-led pilot project, funded by Aspinwall Neighbors, is making Brilliant Avenue safer for pedestrians by providing bright flags to carry while crossing the street. And if you haven't already, be sure to walk or ride down Field Avenue to check out the new 3D crosswalk at 4th Street-a creative safety feature made possible thanks to the talent and hard work of Ryan Mancini and Gemma Pollice. with Throughout the summer, officers enjoyed spending time children and families across the bonds community-strengthening the that make Aspinwall such a special place to live. We are grateful to our police department for going beyond the badge: building trust, protecting our neighborhoods, and leading programs that keep everyone safe.
