BOROUGH OF ASPINWALL EST. 1892 Borough Office 217 Commercial Ave., Aspinwall, PA 15215 412-781-0213 aspinwallpa.com "BOROUGH of ASPINWALL "THE TOWN THAT PRIDE BUILT MAYOR'S MESSAGE By Mayor Joseph (Joe) Noro HAPPY NEW YEAR! With the first month of the new year ending, the Borough of Aspinwall is encouraging safe driving with the "SLOW DOWN" campaign that I implemented in August 2024. The community education effort uses improved signage, road markings and other efforts to make drivers aware of speeding, distracted driving and other traffic safety issues. The "SLOW DOWN" campaign is a tool designed to educate drivers about slowing down in our town. Speeding and distracted driving will always be a challenge. Having a message that our community can rally around and share with others helps in our collective efforts to change driving behaviors. The most frequent complaint we receive from residents, by far, is the issue of speeding in the neighborhood. Speeding and rolling through stop FEBRUARY EVENTS: Wednesday, February 5th Aspinwall Council Agenda Meeting 7 p.m. Aspinwall Council Chambers, 217 Commercial Ave. Wednesday, February 12th Aspinwall Council Regular Meeting 7 p.m. Aspinwall Council Chambers, 217 Commercial Ave. Thursday, February 27th Aspinwall Police Department Public Meeting on Careless & Distracted Driving 6 p.m. St. Scholastica Pastoral Center, 309 Brilliant Ave. signs are a regular occurrence and are not limited to just one street or area. Careless driving results in a high volume of unnecessary traffic accidents that can be prevented with intelligent thinking, such as maintaining a safe following distance, anticipating potential hazards, and avoiding distractions. The Aspinwall Police Department will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday, February 27th at St. Scholastica's Pastoral Center at 6 p.m. (309 Brilliant Ave, Aspinwall, PA).
