Being near heavily traveled Route 28 and Freeport Road, our officers respond to traffic accidents regularly. We urge all residents to be mindful of their speed while traveling on these and our neighborhood roads. Speed is almost always a factor in these accidents. The speed limit on our borough streets is 15mph. In an effort to control speed on Freeport Road, the Borough has petitioned PennDOT to lower the speed limit on Freeport Road from 35 mph to 25 mph. If you are interested in learning about our safety initiatives and awareness, join us on Thursday, February 27th at St. Scholastica's Pastoral Center at 6 p.m. (309 Brilliant Ave, Aspinwall, PA). Representatives from the Allegheny County Police and AAA will be in attendance to present information on Careless and Distracted Driving. The department responded to 656 emergency calls for service in 2024. The members of the department completed 3,269 hours of training.
