Borough officials expressed their appreciation to the Department of Public Works, Aspinwall Police Department, the volunteers with Aspinwall Snow Angels for their coordinated response. Crews worked extended hours plowing, salting, and assisting residents, while Snow Angels provided neighbor-to-neighbor support for those needing help during the storm. Due to continued predictions of extremely cold temperatures, Borough officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and will open warming stations as needed. Residents who rely on medical equipment or oxygen are encouraged to plan ahead during these unprecedented weather events. Public Works Department is focused on large-scale snow removal, clearing excess snow from streets to improve visibility, drainage, and overall roadway safety. Temporary no-parking restrictions may be posted on certain streets to allow crews to complete this work efficiently. Borough officials also offered reminders for future snow events, asking residents to park vehicles as close to the curb as possible to allow plow trucks to safely pass through narrow streets. Residents are also reminded that shoveling, blowing, or pushing snow into the roadway is prohibited, as it creates hazardous conditions and interferes with snow removal operations. Emergency updates and borough notices are shared through Facebook, Savvy Citizen, and Rave 911.
